Ealing Council’s regeneration of Copley Close has been named Best Conceptual Project at the 2014 London Planning Awards.
The award was presented by the Mayor of London Boris Johnson at City Hall at a ceremony attended by over 300 senior representatives from London’s boroughs, developers, planners and community groups.
Copley Close saw off competition from other regeneration schemes at Chobham Farm, Stratford and One Woolwich, Maryon Road, with the temporary accommodation scheme Pop-up HAWSE commended in the same category.
The award is given to schemes that contribute to London’s world city status, regenerate areas of deprivation, maximise the potential of an area, or tackle long-standing planning problems.
Copley Close is an eight-hectare site in west Ealing that will contain over 700 homes. Arc planning were brought into the project team to develop the planning strategy and coordinate and negotiate the application submission, advising the Council on key planning issues and options. We worked closely with the whole project team including Hunters architects, PBA and HTA.
