Arc planning was initially approached to review the Draft S106 that had been drawn up following the granting of a planning permission for commercial (B1 Office) redevelopment of the site. A thorough examination of the agreement and review of guidance revealed a number of items that were not justified. A revised S106 agreement has now been issued, resulting in significant financial savings for the client.
Arc planning have been supporting Hochtief / Murphy JV and BAM Nuttall in relation to the Crossrail works packages at White Hart Avenue, Plumstead; Pier Road, North Woolwich Portal; and the Docklands Transfer site in Barking.
The role involved securing necessary consents for the provision of new work site area outside the limits of deviation of the Crossrail Act. This role has involved discussion and negotiation with officers at LB Newham, RB Greenwich, and LB Barking and Dagenham; Environmental Supporting Statements and Screening and submission of planning and certificate of lawfulness applications in relation to the proposed work sites along with additional ad hoc planning advice.
Working on behalf of Shanks Waste Management Ltd a planning application for the construction of a stand-alone Biogas Generation Plant was prepared and permission secured. The BGP will process up to 100,000 tonnes per annum of organic materials including supermarket waste, food waste and food manufacturing waste using anaerobic digestion will generate biogas for conversion into renewable power.
The establishment of a Tunnelling and Underground Construction Academy (TUCA) was central to Crossrail’s delivery plans and its legacy to the industry. TUCA is located at Aldersbrook Sidings on the border of Newham and Redbridge and is a purpose-built training facility. This project involved full application and Environmental Impact Assessment.
